Online Therapy Support

Intensive Therapy PRogram

At Child's Play O.T., we use various theories to help assess and plan intervention strategies with our clients. Areas of need highlighted in the assessment are targeted through intervention and a program designed specifically for the client is given to be followed at home and/or school. The client is encouraged to make their own goals to work towards in order to make therapy more meaningful and ensure personal achievement is accomplished.

Clients enrol for a term at a time. A term is considered 11 weeks. Individual therapy sessions are typically once or twice a week. Specialised equipment available only at our therapy space means we encourage sessions at the clinic as much as possible, but we are able to offer support in the home and school environments. All sessions are 60 minutes duration, except for handwriting only sessions which are 30 minutes duration.

Intensive therapy programs are a great way to progress skills over a short amount of time. Intensive programs typically run for 3-5 consecutive days for 1-3 hours a day and are customised to each client. This daily input may be split into smaller sessions, such as 1 hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. The intensive program will start with an assessment by one of our Occupational Therapists. Strategies will then be used in the intensive sessions depending on the needs of the person and family involved. The most popular goals for intensive programs includes school readiness, writing, sensory processing and muscle strengthening.

Additional costs will be incurred for assessments and report writing.

Individual Therapy

You don't have to live in Auckland to benefit from our support!

At Child's Play O.T., we use various theories to help assess and plan intervention strategies with our clients. The client is encouraged to make their own goals to work towards, to make therapy more meaningful and ensure personal achievement is accomplished. If you live outside of Auckland and do not have access to a trained specialist, we are able to offer online support. This is typically done through video-conferencing. Strategies are recommended to fit into family life on a day-to-day basis.
